Music of the Month

I know I haven't written in a while, and all I have to say is that it is because I am lazy. LOL Anyway this time I thought I would dedicate this post to my new found musical love ADELE. I have decided that during the month of Feburary I would put away my Celine in anticipation of her concert. That is when Adele came onto the scene. I have always loved musicians who write there own music, and put there true emmotions into their work. I first heard Adele on Ellen. I couldn't figure out why I liked her so much, but then I did some research. Her stuff is good and I would suggest everyone listens to her stuff. She just recently won to grammy's and is makeing a big wave in the music industry.
So there you have it, a break from my usual information on Celine. I will however update you about the concert when I attend in 12 days. who keeps count though. LOL

Hope everyone is doing well and know that I think and pray about you all. For my family that is here and away know that I love you, and miss you!

Excuses

So it has been a super long time since my last post. There is a good reason for it, well at least I think there is a good reason for it. I have been in depression because my beloved Celine Dion got sick, which resulted in her having to post-pone her concert to February 22. I know that I should just be happy that she is actually still coming but I looked closer at the date and she has rescheduled for a Sunday. Who schedules a concert in Salt Lake City on a Sunday? I have decided that I am going anyways I have waited since 5th grade to see her in concert, and I figure the lord will have to forgive me for this little sin. So there you have it that is why I haven't been posting in a longtime. I am not making any promises but I should be able to get at least another post up before school starts.

No worries I will forgive you Celine!

What the world needs now...

I have felt that this week has had a lot of opportunities for me to ponder about the many different aspects of what we like to call life. I have learned that sometimes we are not given what we have been praying for, because the lord has a different direction for us to go. The most amazing part is that the lord is right, I can literally step back and see that I was blessed more by where the lord took me, then when I attempted things on my own.
I have also had time to look at my relationships with those that are around me. I defiantly need to work on making some stronger, but I can honestly say that I am surrounded by people that love me.

I can honestly say that I absolutely love my parents. (Crazy hair and all) Yeah, they have there crazy faults, but I couldn't imagine better parents then the ones I got. I sometimes wonder how I got so lucky in the parents lottery, because I defiantly won. Sure my mom is paranoid and intrudes into my life a little (lot) more than I like, but who would I be without this awesome example? Then there is my dad. This hilariously awesome guy who likes to tell you the same joke over and over again, and who gives one to many guilt trips, but he will love you know matter how stupid you act, or how mad you get at the guy. He is always showing his love in small ways. I remember thinking when I was little that I never heard dad say "I Love You," but I quickly found that his actions speak louder than his words.
So for those of you who read this, sorry for all the lovey dovey, churchy things, but I am feeling very sentimental. Just know that I love all of you that read my blog, and I can't imagine my life with out your influence and example. I am a better person because of who you are. LOVE YA'LL

About time!!

Okay so it has been forever since I have had a real post. There has been a lot that has happened. Let's see in June I finished my first tri-athlon, if you can call it that. My sister in-law Emily and I decided that we were going to start training. We thought that we would try and go for a Tri in July, but we stepped up the training and with only 6 weeks behind us we entered the Tri.

The day of the tri was rainy and cold. I was not in the best of moods because we had already had a very stressful day the night before. (see emily's post for details) When we got to Salem where it was to take place, we grabbed our things and road our bikes to the race start. We noticed that there were a lot of people taking there bikes back to the car's, so we asked what was going on and they informed us that they had canceled the bike portion because it was to wet. I was mad about this fact because the biking is my best portion, and it was where I was looking forward to making up time. As we continued to wait for the beginning of the race we found out that they were thinking of canceling the swimming portion too, because the water was too cold. Instead they made a compromise with search and rescue and shortened the distance for us. The water temp. was 48 degrees, and the air temp. was 43. For the short version I will just say that it turned into a dual athlon, but I was able to finish the whole thing and didn't come in last!! The water was freezing and I looked like a wet dog trying to swim, but unlike some people I know search and rescue didn't pull me out of the water. Her are some pictures of the day. I only have some from the beginning because my camera died.

Lets see I also took a trip to Yellowstone with Cory, Emily, and there kids. I had a blast, it was an awesome time to get to know there kids better and to also just have a nice relaxing vacation. I love Yellowstone, I have always had a weird fascination with water.
I also went to Las Vegas this past weekend I had a blast. Kelly and Chanelle live there, well I guess for a few more days they do. I absolutely love Las Vegas. It has defiantly gotten more sleazy since the last time I was there, but I just love the city life. I was able to get my haircut by Chanelle who is the best ever at dong hair. I don't think I can trust my hair to anyone else but her. To bad they are so far away. The first night that we were in Vegas we took the kids to Circus Circus to see the free circus show. We ended up playing some of the carnival games, and we won a stuffed animal for each of the kids. We then went home and went swimming at there pool.

K, so this last picture I love of my nephew but don't look at me, I have no idea what I was doing.

I also spent a night on the strip. We started out our night by going to Freemont street, where you can still put coins into the slot machines. We decided that we really wanted to walk down Freemont street so that we could find ourselves the "deep fried twinkes," and "deep fried oreos." On our way down the street we got to see the awesome light show. LOL
I also had some hot chippendales try to get me to come and take a picture with them. I was extremely freaked out, but Chanelle got it worse than me. They tried to grab her hand to pull her over, but she screamed and ran to the opposite side. We finally made it to our destination at the end of the street where our deep fried fantasies where to come true. Here are some pictures of the deliciouness.

To finish off our night we went down to the strip, where I was able to finally ride the roller coaster at New York, New York. I also got to see the Bellagio fountains which I had only ever seen from the car. I think I saw the two best shows.

How could I not include a picture of Caesar's Palace the residence of Celine Dion for 5 years. P.S. Bangs? Like them, Hate them?

Last but not least the pictures we took as we were leaving Vegas, and wanted to document Kelly and Chanelle's house for the time.
P.P.S My nephew loves to make car poses, and power ranger poses!

Yeah Baby!!!

Okay so I just have a few min. before I go golfing so I thought that I would let you all know that I am still alive. I promise that I will start blogging more consecutively when I get back into school. I thought that I would let you all know that I got CELINE DION tickets!!! Even better they are on row 11!!!! I am now only 6 cd's away from having her whole english collection, and I am now the owner of her dvd which contains her show from vegas. So if you ever need a Celine fix I am your girl. For those of you who don't know I am Celine's biggest fan. LOL or I would like to think so.

This Will Be

Okay so I wasn't going to write again for awhile, but it is Sunday and I am bored, and just realized that I have been tagged by Katie. This means that this one will be pretty short, as there is nothing to really say.

Here goes:
1. What was I doing ten years ago? Lets see, I was in 4Th grade with Ms. Killpack. I thought she was the best teacher ever. I was also finally learning how to get through a whole day of class, because as most of you know I had such bad anxiety in 2ND and 3rd grade I hardly went to school. I also had found my love for sports. This is the year that I started to play competition soccer for Stealth. This was also the year that my parents started to travel with Kirk while he was on his recruiting trips. Besides that life was pretty normal, and everything was easy.
2.What is my to do list for today? Since it is Sunday and I have already had my Sunday nap the only things that I have left to do are read my scriptures and go to bed. I will probably eat a drumstick in there somewhere, and play a little American Idol on my wii. I need to start practicing so that when American Idol comes to Salt Lake in July I am ready!
3.What would you do if you were suddenly a billionaire? Wow, this is a crazy question. There is so much I want to do. I would defiantly start off by paying off my parents house and all there other expenses. I would give each of my siblings money to help them out with there expenses. (I don't know if Kirk would get cash I don't think he needs it that much, but his kids would suddenly become really spoiled. LOL) I would pay off all my schooling. Pay for myself to go on a mission, move out of my parents house, start my own non-profit organization in Provo for sexual assault victims, and finally go to Africa as a volunteer and help out where ever I was needed. Anything left over I would put into savings, and continue to work, and find people who need money.
4. 3 bad habits. I think I will do this backwards. My 3rd worst habit is procrastination!!! I defiantly love leaving everything til the very end. 2ND, I defiantly find my parents house to comforting so I make a huge mess all over my parents house, but mostly in my room, but in my apartment I am OCD about cleanliness and I think it drives my roommates crazy. My worst habit is probably my obsession with reading fan fiction. If you don't know what this is, you don't want to. It is really nerdy and cheesy.
5. Places I have lived. I have only ever lived in one place. Yes, Kara I am sure I have probably told you other things, from my second grade lying stage, but I have lived in Provo, Utah my whole life. Although I am planning on moving to New York as soon as I graduate.
6.Places I have worked. My first job ever was Footlocker in the Provo Towne Center. I then went to Macey's Grocery store, then to Aspen Grove, and last but not least the OPCC. Orchard Park Care Center as an occupational therapist aide. p.s. I am back at Footlocker just one day every two weeks so I can keep my discount.
7. Three things people don't know about me. Well this one is going to be hard because the only people who read this already know me. umm... 1. I won a car my senior year of high school, also the same year that I blew out my ACL. 2. I love to go fishing, but when I catch a fish I can't touch the fish. I end up screaming like a little girl when the fish wiggles and running for dear life. 3. I have a shoe fetish. I can probably tell you what all of my friends favorite shoes are, and what shoes they wore each year of high school. I also have so many shoes that I could wear a different pair everyday for a month and still have shoes left over.

I now tag anyone that actually reads this. I think that would include cory, emily, and whoever else.

Lame

Yes I do realize that it has been more than a month since the last time that I have posted anything. I bet that most of you were beginning to wonder if I was ever going to post something. LOL
A lot has happened since the last time that I have posted anything. Craig and Chelsea are here for the summer, and I was able to completely finish up my winter semester and start my spring semester.
My softball team has been improving by leaps and bounds. We have won the last three games. I believe that our record is now sitting at 500.

Emily and I have been training for the last three weeks to try and conquer our first ever triathlon. We are both super excited, but nervous because we have no idea what we are doing. I figure that if I can just some how make it through the swimming I will be just fine. My sister in-law Amy keeps telling me that after I finish this one I will have the triathlon bug and will want to keep doing more.

Well I will try to be more consistent in posting but I am not making any promises.
Until next time wish the best for me as I try to finish the tri!
